As part of the activities of the EU-funded RISE Project, Prof. Mashhoor Al Rifai, President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology, patronized on Wednesday March 14 the opening of the National Conference for “Human Resources Management in Higher Education: Challenges and Opportunities” at the University of Monastir, Tunisia.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, Prof. Al-Rifai said that PSUT is fulfilling distinguished achievements that lead it to a distinguished position among the Jordanian, Arab and international universities.

Prof. Al-Rifai stressed on the importance of the conference of RISE project, which is managed by PSUT, and thanked the management of the University of Monastir of Tunisia for hosting the conference and everyone who contributed in its success.

In turn, the president of University of Monastir, Prof. Elhadi Belhaj, reviewed the distinct bilateral relations between the University of Monastir and PSUT, pointing out to the importance of RISE project, which enables to develop the capabilities of Human resources staffs in the institutions of partner countries.

Prof. Walid Abu Salameh, the project coordinator, welcomed the participants and reviewed the project activities and tasks then introduced the program of the conference.

Very rich papers were presented from Arab and European universities in the conference all serves the aim of the conference, which is to discuss a set of working papers focus on the management of human resources in the Arab higher education institutions participating in the conference namely: Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria.
